I'm all for people liking sports. I've purposely avoided going out to any bar where sports are shown at the time of any major sporting event, and try not to drive near the Meadowlands when there's a big game happening because I really just don't want to deal with the insanity - the bone I throw them is leaving the space empty that would otherwise be occupied by me so they can fit more of their friends in. Bianchi and subversive, I love you both, but you two are frakkin crazy. The hometown team won the biggest prize in american sports and you two complain? I could understand if you were a fan of another team, but come on! Throw your fellow new yorkers a bone, suck it up and quit your crying.

It may be the opiate of the masses, but isn't that the point? It's the masses for a reason, LOTS of people like sports. Period. It's incontenstible.
