As a reminder, this starts tomorrow, so finish up that unit or two so you can claim the bonus! Scenario to be posted tomorrow... (printouts will be available
to those without net access). $10 entry fee to be paid to me when joining the campaign

Just to clarify the rules, only units get bonuses correct, NOT characters, correct?
|
|||

Characters do indeed get the bonuses! Characters are units of 1!
If a previously painted character joins a freshly painted unit, the character does not benefit from the unit's bonus. (no nonsense like painting 1 new model each week just to say he's your general so you can always get a bonus... though I will let you get away with it if each one is of fantastic lone-character quality)

Week 1: Battle of the Primary Colors
What kind of a cheesy name is that? I don't know. It's the kind of crap that GW would come up with. And if it's good enough for GW, it's good enough for me! Remember that only your FIRST game will count towards the campaign. Try to get a game against a campaign opponent, if possible. SCENARIO -- Pitched Battle. Deploy terrain and units as normal. Right before the first turn, you may reposition ONE freshly painted unit/character anywhere it would be legal to do so. If both you and your opponent wish to do this, roll a d6 to determine who repositions first (highest roll repositions first). BONUS -- For every fully painted unit or character you will field tonight for the first time, gain one of the following bonuses: (if you have multiple freshly painted squads, the same bonus you pick will apply to ALL) +2 Weapon Skill +2 Ballistic Skill +1 Strength (Goblins are S4, Bolt-throwers are S7, Impact Hits are S6) +1 Toughness (Orcs are T5, Cannons are T8) At the conclusion of your game, make sure you give me tell me who won/lost/drew. Wins are worth 5 points. Draws are worth 3 points. Losses are worth 1 point. You may earn 1 Bonus Point IF one or more of your freshly painted units/characters survives the battle.

Matt conceded defeat to my supreme tactics of never failing a regen roll, and my painted unit (the general) survived.

Wilson trumped me, and I think we should get a bonus prize for playing a 6 round game of Fantasy in an hour (Khorne Demons + Smashy Lizards = No shooting or
magic phase)

WEEK 2
Bonuses for this week: Again, follow the same guidelines as the previous week. If the unit/character is fully and freshl painted, you can give them one of the following 4 bonuses: 5+ uber-ward (stacks on top of normal wards/regen/etc. and cannot ever be lost for any reason) Always Strikes First ability. (if facing another ASF unit, the bonuses cancel and you revert to the normal order based on charging, initiative, great-weapons, who won combat, etc) Give a character or unit the "Causes Fear" ability. If already causes fear, unit now "Causes Terror". If already causes terror, unit now causes terror in a 9 inch radius! All attacks by the unit/character count as magical. (this includes missile fire) ----------------------------------------- After deployment, but before rolling to see who goes first, any eligible fresh unit may make a single normal (non-march) move.

Bonuses for week 3:
Leadership-- Painted unit or character may reroll ANY leadership based test, twice during the game. You may use the rerolls both for the same test, or for two separate tests. Keep in mind that you may reroll ANY tests, including PASSED tests you want to fail! Attacks-- Unit or character DOUBLES all attacks for a single TURN worth of close combat (two consecutive rounds of combat). Declare you are using this ability at the start of the close combat phase. Things like giants will roll twice on the chart, applying the results consecutively. Things like chariots will do 2d6 impact hits. Flee/Pursue-- Unit or character can pursue/flee 1d6 MORE than normal! That means cav will generally pursue/flee 4d6! This applies to breking/pursuing from combat, as well as fleeing from charges and subsequent fleeing due to failure of the rally roll. Kill the enemy-- Unit or character picks a single opposing enemy units/character. You have hatred against that opponent, and do not suffer from fear/terror against that target. Furthermore, that enemy unit suffers fear against you (if not immune to psychology). You also always strike first against this enemy, regardless of any other always-strike-first rules or factors. As always, if you have multiple new units/models, you have to pick the SAME bonus to apply to them all. Enjoy!
