Bloodthirster: insanity, armor, fury BSB: sundering standard (goes into one of the skull totem 'letter units) Herald: juggernaut, etherblade (goes into the +6" charging 'letter unit) 2x 16 Bloodletters w/ musician, Skull Totem 1x 16 Bloodletters w/ musician, +6" first charge banner 2x 8 Fleshounds 5 Furies 2245pts total Sacred 8 preserved for the most part throughout the list, plus 72 total models (divisible by eight ), 3 big (at least for DL) ranked units (no MSU for me). The only immediate thing I maybe want to do is to somehow find 50 points to give my BSB a juggernaut too. The idea is to put the 'Thirster on a flank with a unit of hounds to wreck havoc there while the 3 blocks of letters with the BSB and herald go up the middle. The second hound unit flanks the 3 blocks while the furies do whatever it is that furies do.

I love that your sticking with Khorne's number of eight!! And, of course, you'll do well with this army. In particular the 2 units of Fleshhounds are nasty!!! The easiest way to mess with daemons is to block the slow stuff, let the fast stuff get to you 2 rounds earlier, then beat it one portion at a time. ------------------------------ I'm the Mega Battle Champion, and Rob and Kevin are not. :P

Gary, I know you're going for fluff over anything else, but you need to tinker with the list. 8's really don't work on things like fleshhounds (they already have 2 wounds each, so they are resilient), and at their price... 8 is just too much. Drop the hounds to 5, that'll net you a couple hundred points. Drop one of the bloodletter unit to 10 and drop it's command. Now you're looking at a full 250 point to play with. Add the jugger for the bsb, then spend the rest the points on a unit of bloodcrushers. 2x2 or 2x3 or something like that. Now you're in business. If they concentrate on the fast stuff, they still have 2 ranked unit of bloodletters to deal with. If they go after the softer bloodletters, then the thirster, jugger heroes, juggers and fleshhounds do the trick.

Just kidding... If you're sticking with the numbers then there's nothing to change (though I like the charge bonus icon better than no march blocking). If you're not then its individual jugg heralds, thirster, minimum core and maximum flesh hounds. The end. All in all I'd say this is a decent list, though I see you having trouble vs less numerically honest DL (or DL where the points work better like Kevin's or tzeentch). Also larger armies like a proper orc horde, empire with a couple of cannon and a solid line and of course VC are going to hurt. I might give it a 1 or 2 in comp instead of the standard daemon 0. ; P Hey, we all need to deal with the stress in our own way. Sometimes you just happen to have a puppy and be next to a cliff.

Posts: 3594 (06/16/08 08:35:12) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	First place at the Necro was Big Al: BT with +1 St, Flamng, Scroll, AoK and Reroll Misses 3 heralds on Juggs with AoK and +1 St, Flaming and MoK (that's three with St 7 attacks and 0+ AS!) 1 with Sundering 4 units of 5 Fleshhounds (certainly the best unit in the Khorne DL list.) 3 units of 10 Bloodletters MSU (no command.) My list (19th place) was: BT with 2d6+2 attacks, reroll misses and AoK Herald on Jugg with OA and Standard of Sundering Herald on Chariot with 0A. 3 units of 5 Fleshhounds 3 units of 10 Bloodletters with music & standard 2 units of 5 Furies 2 Bloodcrushers (By the way, for some strange reason I got lower comp then Big Al.) I had made my army to face VC and HE. Instead I got Nurgle, Khorne, Lizards, Lizards and O&G. Big Al's list was much better against the armies that were on the top tables (although I think he might have faced VC - I'm not sure.) Regardless, he beat me with his list (the St 7 and 0+ heralds were dominating). Just so you know I think the "optimum" Khorne build is going to be something between the two lists. I'm planning on changing my gifts back to the Firestorm Blade, AoK, Immortal Fury and, possibly, rerollable wounds. (Heralds will be AoK and Firestorm Blades for sure.) The debate on the chariot will continue. I think it's great against rank and file troops but given the overkill and possibilty of a St 7 attack providing an unbelieveable number of wounds to overkill i.e., 9, it's hard to have it go into a challenge. Gary, I would like to try out a list like yours. Maybe I'll see how it does - but don't forget that Bloodletters will "disapear" when facing HE.

Look at the necro results to show yourself just how tough they are. I only have YOU to blame for my obsession with HE (and Larry with VC.) I shouldn't have bothered worrying about either one of these armies as they are only really good in the hands of people who know how to play! (I'm just teasing all you VC and HE players out there - keep bringin' 'em to tournaments!) VC and HE/Larry and Nidal equals zero comp. The rest of the Warhammer community equals "fluff". (Had I only focused on Kevin and Big Al, the event would have had a diferent result - Rob would have won against me in the final game!)
