I want to try a 40K army (Dark Angels) but I need advice. I want to use the army list featured in WD 326 (see bellow) but it was designed for 2,000 points. What should I remove to bring it down to 1850 pts without ruining the list? Thanks. Posts: 2557 (07/26/08 08:02:41) More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	I don't read WD anymore, but it looks like they're continuing their tradition of uncompetitive armies. The whirlwinds that can ignore cover saves are especially useful in 5th edition. Take two or three. All-las predators are overpriced and can't move, so they're very vulnerable to anything that can get into their side/rear arcs (like deepstriking/outflanking units with melta weapons or even just krak grenades). If you really want a predator, take the 90point anti-infantry one. That lets you take lascannons in your tac squads, for killing tanks, since you don't need missile launchers if you have whirlwinds. The scout unit is mixed-role in a bad way. The snipers/missile want to stand still and shoot, the shotguns want to advance and assault. Break it into two units or pick one or the other. Scouts can outflank now, so tankhunting gear for non-sniper scouts is good. Meltaguns in the bike unit for tank hunting. A tornado can't shoot both the assault cannon and the HB while moving, so not worth the points. Speeder with heavy flamer is a good thing now. -Tom

Posts: 5982 (07/26/08 16:11:35) Moderator More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	One thing to be said for all las predators is that now with the change to defensive weapons excluding heavy bolters, all pred variants will have to stay still to fire from all points. They're also harder to kill than previously with the new chart and VPs are no longer relevant, so their expense matters a bit less. I think they're worth consideration if you find your list lacking in anti-tank weaponry. Agree with the rest of Tom's points. Larry: Join the "Beat Larry Mottola" challenge, since I haven't lost a real GT game, well, ever. Suck on that. Arash: It's a good thing you haven't let it get to your head. Larry: Shit son, if you think that's bad, how about this - I've been #1 in North America in TWO separate years according to Merkit! Basically, your Club has a Warhammer God in it. (06/27/08)
